“If the idea of the universe be presented to the child in the right way, it will do more for him than just arouse his interest, for it will create in him admiration and wonder, a feeling loftier than any interest and more satisfying. The child’s mind then will no longer wander, but becomes fixed and can work.… A great curiosity arises, which can never be satiated; so will last through a lifetime.”
– Maria Montessori
Elementary Community
The Elementary program at St. Paul’s includes children in the age range of 6 to 12 years (1st–6th grades) and will remain open through the end of the 2026-2027 academic year. Starting in August 2027, St. Paul’s will focus on our younger programs and will no longer offer an elementary option.
The Montessori elementary curriculum conforms to state guidelines for each grade level. Students attend classes between 8:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. five days per week. Morning and After-School care are also available. See our Tuition and Fees page for options and costs.
Each afternoon, the students participate in enrichment classes which are taught by specialized instructors. These include art, music, Godly Play, percussion, and P.E.
The student–teacher ratio for elementary is 1 teacher for every 14 children.
