Admissions – New

Admissions

Our Process

We know it’s not easy to select the right school for your child. Our admission process makes it easier! The process begins with your visit to our school. Following your tour, if you decide to enroll your child, you’ll complete an application.

+ Admissions Process

Our enrollment procedures include the following steps:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the basic Montessori philosophy
  2. Make an appointment to tour the school and observe a Montessori classroom
  3. Complete a new student application and forms
  4. Schedule an appointment for a student visit
  5. If your child is currently attending another school, please submit a student records request form to that school and send it to St. Paul’s Episcopal Montessori School
  6. On notification of acceptance, please submit vaccination records and a physician’s statement.

Please complete and return all enrollment forms before your child’s first day of school. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED UNTIL ALL REQUIRED FORMS HAVE BEEN RETURNED.

Our enrollment policy is that no child shall be denied admission to St. Paul’s on the basis of race, gender, color, religion, or national origin.

The following priorities are observed in determining admission

  • Classroom space availability
  • Currently enrolled students
  • Siblings of currently enrolled students
  • Balancing of ages and genders in each classroom
  • Transfers from other Montessori schools
  • Date of application, and
  • Student evaluation

If you have further questions or would like to schedule a school visit, please call our office at (210) 271-2861 or send an email to school@stpaulsmontessori.org.

+ Financial Assistance

Financial Aid

St. Paul’s Episcopal Montessori School makes a strong commitment to need-based financial aid in order to support students who otherwise may not be able to enjoy the benefits of Montessori education. All financial aid is based on the need or financial status of the student’s family, the number of requests received, and the number of financial aid funds available for a given school year.
St. Paul’s uses a nationally recognized service, TADS (Tuition Aid Data Services), to process financial aid applications. TADS applies standardized criteria to determine to what extent each family needs assistance to pay for one year’s tuition. The St. Paul’s Episcopal Montessori School Financial Aid Committee uses information from the TADS process to allocate the amount of financial aid available. You can find the application here: https://sssandtadsfa.force.com/familyportal
For assistance with your TADS application, you can contact their family support services by calling (800) 344-8328 or emailing sssandtadsfa@communitybrands.com.
TADS applications are due March 31. Returning families must re-apply for financial aid every year that they are seeking aid.

Scholarships

In addition to need-based financial aid, St. Paul’s has a few scholarship opportunities:
1. For both St. Paul’s Episcopal Church parishioner families and military families, we are able to offer tuition assistance through the Rev. Chester W. King Scholarship Fund.
2. For families who are committed to the Montessori Method, we have scholarship opportunities through the Kay Mijangos Scholarship Fund.
3. For families who are committed to spending their early childhood and elementary years at St. Paul’s, we have scholarship opportunities through the Peggy Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Please reach out to Macleay Martinez, Head of School, if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity: mmartinez@stpaulsmontessori.org.

Military Families

St. Paul’s Episcopal Montessori is an approved provider through the Child Care Aware® of America and may be approved to receive payments for Army or Marine Corps children, aged 18 months through 35 months, who are eligible for the Operation Military Child Care (OMCC) program.
