“Our aim is not merely to make the child understand, and still less to force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination as to enthuse him to his innermost core.” – Maria Montessori

St. Paul’s offers educational programs for children 18 months of age through 6th grade. Above the toddler level, classrooms are three-year communities with a three-year age span. Children and their families benefit greatly from remaining up to three years in the same classroom and with the same teacher rather than changing classrooms and teachers each year, as in traditional programs.

Children are able to learn at their own pace, as teachers have more than three years of curriculum available to personalize instruction for each student. Children also learn from each other, as older children reinforce their learning by teaching younger children. Children and parents love this aspect of a Montessori education because it develops nurturing, mentoring and leadership skills in children and promotes a strong relationship with classroom teachers.
