IMPORTANT “Know Before You Go” EVENT DETAILS
EVENT DATE AND TIME:Saturday, May 4th, 2024
Early viewing and cocktails will start at 4:30pm (all are welcome!), then the event will officially kick off at 5pm. The race is around 5:45pm, so make sure to arrive on time so you don’t miss out on the excitement!
EVENT LOCATION: The party will be held at Small Acres Ranch – 6970 Stonykirk Rd. SATX 78240. It is on the northwest side, near Huebner Rd. and Babcock Rd.
EVENT ATTIRE: The theme could be described as “Derby Fabulous” , “Springtime Cocktail”, or “Elevated Picnic” – be aware that the event will be all outdoors, though, so the most important thing is to dress comfortably! Derby hats and ties are highly encouraged! We will have Derby Hat and Derby Tie Contests, as well.
There is a high chance of rain in the next few days, so be prepared for some mud! Remember, the event is outdoors and in the grass. Might not be the best time to bring out your new pair of stilettos… Maybe your most stylish pair of galoshes??
PARKING: When you pull into the gate, you can park along the fence line to your left. Overflow parking will be in the grassy area on your right (in front of the house). We will also have someone guiding cars for parking.
UPON ARRIVAL: Once you’ve parked, make your way to the Registration Table to get your food and drink tickets.
- Regular tickets include food ticket and 2 beer/wine tickets
- VIP tickets include food ticket, 2 beer/wine tickets, 1 specialty cocktail ticket, and a pack of 3 raffle tickets
We will also have extra drink tickets and raffle tickets on sale there!
- Additional beer/wine tickets = $5
- Additional cocktail tickets = $8
We will accept cash, check, and card on site.
WIN, PLACE, SHOW RAFFLE (packs of 3 tickets):Choose a winning horse for each of your raffle tickets. We will draw tickets from the first, second, and third place horses to pull THREE lucky winners for three amazing prizes:
- Fourth of July Weekend in Downtown Austin (including Barton Springs outing and Torchy’s Tacos gift card)
- SA Brahmas ticket package with team swag and autographed merch
- Mother’s Day Breakfast-in-Bed Gift Basket
You can buy your raffle tickets online or at the event. Remember the raffle tickets are time-sensitive, as we will stop selling them once the race begins!

VIP TABLE GUESTS:If you are one of the lucky folks sitting at a VIP table, you will receive your food and drink tickets at the registration table. We will have a server for your table. Additionally, don’t forget that one of your VIP perks is getting your photograph taken with the horses that live at the ranch! Our photographer, Miguel, will be available to snap those during the first half of the evening, and your server will help connect you with him. Guests of the VIP tables also have access to the indoor restroom inside the casita (instead of using the port-a-potty), so be on the lookout for signage to find your way to that.
